2020 a year of plauge,pestilence,misery, and hatred. A year of race riots and discord. George Floyd a bouncer became a symbol of a national rebellion. against the man after his death at the hands of police brutality in Minniapolis. So many deaths by police bruatality followed. Race riots in most American cities and accross the world. I watched as age old statues were toppled and symbols were destroyed. In all it seemed like an unorginized revolution. No clear goal except "change" not real change .There were parrells in other countries and some traditions died. No clear change happened. In many ways a step back I thought. Black people who had achieved the oval office and high positions and wealth again seemed to type-caste themselves as people not powerful and struggling. It seemed a mistake and I feel sorry for them. Covid-19 was like a horrific plauge. 300,000 dead in the U.S. and millions globally. The worst splauge since the Spanish flu of 1917. I like many socially isolated myself. I made the most of my time shopped online and social mediad while working on comic book projects. I missed doing five comic book shows and had delay a vacation. Who knows when Covid-19 will end. The vaccine is here however. And I am relived partially but still people die!!!The year ended I finally joined the Democratic Socialists and felt better. 2020 the year of grimmness and grave.

Biden's Potential
What will the election of Joe Biden bring to the Post-Trump America. What will follow the departure of Trump may be many things. Such as the relief many of the gang of thieves around Trump and Donald Trump himself not in office. And America herself spoke out and got what the American people wanted. There may be some dispute and some comotion but after Joe Biden sworn in there will be a very special first 100 days and first term for Biden. Maybe what Biden might do is inherit a mostly Democrat Congress.A Congress that can pass bills for the new administrition.Bills like Biden's new health bill which will benefit Americans substantially. A exbanditure of ObamaCare it takes ObamaCare a little further and gives Americans slightly more. Also he might take the U.S. back into the Paris Climate Accord and do some popular things. Wether he does Green New Deal or other environmental things is to be seen. He will probably see Americans get is more Covid-19 Relif and make sure the Plizer Vaccine for Covid-19 very wildly distributed so all Americans get it. The first 100 days will very much be a relif for Trump wary America.

Just Saw Pennyworth Again
Just saw Pennyworth again loved it. The 2019 Epix 1st season of Pennyworth a Batman prequal was cool. Like the 1st time on Epix I loved it. I watched a marathon of it all weekend. All on a 3 DVD boxed set. It rocked !!! I ate popcorn I ate junkfood it was so cool. Alfred Pennyworth was so cool going after villians as a secret agent, security agent, and assain. Foiling royal assains,saving the U.K.,f.....ing the Queen (young Elisabeth sorta person) and meeting Batman's parents two rich CIA agants. The main plot revolved around an Alternate 50s England sorta like ours but very Batman. The Shadows were mentened so it's late 50s and perhaps some Churchill friend as PM. Political struggle between far left and far right extremists so is it 30s Germany or just a attempt at Alan Moore write. So I love how the Raven Society lost and Lord Howard lost. Way to go Alfred.

What This Day Means
This Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur for 5781 is a day of judgement. According to Judaism on Yom Kippur, G-d sits on his throne and judges humankind. The good are spared and the evil are doomed to die. While not as cut and dry who would we say should be spared and who should go. Should some titles go and should titles be spared. Savage Dragon and Spawn are allways good kids. Spiderman and Superman titles too. I don't think Shazam is a bad kid but perhaps too bad. Perhaps DC should have not sat in judgement on Mad Magazine or Black Label (Vertigo). I am fortunate for myself my own title is a good girl for another year.

Is President Trump a Dictator?
President Trump is one of the most controversial presidents since George W.Bush. The U.S. leader since 2016 what has been debated since he took office is his belief in freedom and does he want to be a dictator. All those philosophers and fair defeders of the republic know he is not Hitler but make him out to be a huge threat to the Democratic Party. Other rumors there were to be purges were hysteria. Perhaps he admires dictators and wants to be one but knows he can't stay realistically. And to defend him he is fantastic at most of his foreighn policy but has a domestic policy to be doughted. Trump while fantastic economically builds walls not bridges. If he stands down whether it's 2021 or 2026 he might show himself to be a real president. The only thing is some corruption over the election in there Trump resembles not Xi but Nixon.

My All-Time Favorite Comic Book (Part 3)
Affter the Captain Marvel family of comic book titles debuted in 1940 it soon became a favorite."The Big Red Cheese " as Cap was called frequantly outsold Superman and Batman at 5 million copies sold per avaerage comic book during the forties. Fawcett Publications made millions of Captain Marvel. This infuriated D.C. which claimed Fawcett copied Superman. They lost initially to Fawcett due to his success. But D.C.'s lawyers dug-in and were determined. Eventually they legally had Fawcett under-seige defending Captain Marvel's right to exist. Allthough Captain Marvel made millions of dollars in the U.S. and internationally in the U.K.,Israel,and abroad the company Fawcett Publications lost millions defending him. Finally in 1953 Fawcett lost to D.C. in court and the last Marvel Family Comic ended the Captain's original run at Fawcett.
Other companies expermimented with the name. An action figure name which also made a comic book and Marvel Comics which had it's own comic Captain Marvel which was about a Kree Captain, Mav-ell.And in the mid seventies the original Captain Marvel returned under new D.C. ownership with a new comic book called Shazam with a new comic which went along with a new live show on screen same name.During the ninities a Jerry Ordway series, few mini-series,graphic novels, and Shazam had a cult status among D.C. charachters. Captain Marvel was an artist favorite. The thunderbolt and red shirt were cool the cape and sash differant. Electricity not tights and an upset millionaire crying about mum and dad. A boy done good and even his job was cooler. Instead of roving reporter Shazam was a D.J. on WHIZ Radio.

My Favorite All-Time Comic (Part 2)
Captain Marvel debuted in 1940 in a comic book from Fawcett Publications,the same people who later published Peanuts collections, called Whiz Comics. The hero Captain Marvel debuted in Whiz Comics #2 which his origin the hero who's powers combined six heros and said Shazam. Whiz Comics soon outsold rival National Publications Action Comics and the man called Marvel expanded to Captain Marvel Adventures and his own title. Stories were adventurous but goofy with a whimsical,realistic,and cartoonishs artstyle Captain Marvel captivated comic book readers. At one time Captain Marvel sold 5 million copies an issue. They also entertained not only the youth but troops during the war, World War II. Villians for Captain Marvel included Sivana,a mad scienntist who resented him and often plotted against him,and other primary rivals such as Black Adam a previous champion of the wizard Shazam who had gone to the dark side. Black Adam was an Egyptian hero who went bad and plottted against pharoah. Black Adam and other superpowered villians such as villainous Captain Nazi made up his rivals. Captain Marvel's friend's made up his Marvel Family. He had a sister Mary Marvel who was his long-lost actual sister Mary Batson. Billy rediscovered his. sister who had been adopted by a wealthy family. She the wizard gave powers to as well. She recieved the powers of Sappho,Hypolyita, Atalanta,Zefyr,Athena,and Mercury. Mary Marvel debted in Captain Marvel Adventures but had her own book. Mary Marvel . Mary Marvel was an early female hero like Wonder Woman. He had his own little brother too Freddie Freman or Captain Marvel J.R. who debuted in Whiz Comics and had two books of his own Master Comics and Captain Marvel J.R. . Captain Marvel J.R. said Captain Marvel to recieve his powers and was the eqivalant of the Captain's kid sidekick or little brother. So the Captain had is family who even had their own book Marvel Family. Other members of the Marvel Family included Tawky Tawny a talking tiger who was Billy's friend, Sgt.Marvel the comic relief who resembled comidien and actor W.C. Fields,the three Lutenant Marvels,and even Hoppy the Marvel Bunny who was a rabbit with the powers of Shazam.

Why Censorship Is Dangerous (Part 2)
After Wethram's book Seduction of the Innocent in April 1954 there was a national hysteria against comics led by local civic and religous leaders. Church leaders gave sermons against comics and the industry who made them. There also mass destruction of comic books and bonfires accross America of comiic books. This led to a senate hearing on comic books led by the Senate Chairmen on Un-American Activites Senator Joseph McCarthy. Fredrick Wethram testified for the commitee against Comics and gave his arguments Comics were bad for the youth. Again Wonder Woman was a peverted,sadistic woman and Batman gay. Superman a facist created by Un-Americans and Communists like Siegal and Shuster. The industry defended itself. It's testemony was led by publishers and those who made them.For the most part although the industry defended itself and the hearing ended eventually it had it's effect.Wethram's argument worked alot and the industry suffered.Many of the top companies like Marvel and DC reduced there staff and publication lines. Comics like Captain Marvel were canceled and some companies dissapeared. Monster and gangster comics suffered the most based Wethram's argument against violence and children being influnced by violence.The fifties were also bad for RocknRoll and personal freedoms as well. The point of the example is how Dr.Wethram's seducing case is dangerous and a risk. Today the Comic Book Industry has recovered. But the same thing could happen again.Perhaps the past is the future and the future is the past.

Why Censorship Is Dangerous (Part 1)
In April 1954 phychiatrist Dr. Fredrick Wethram wrote a landmark book attacking Comic Books called Seduction of the Innocent. The book is perhaps one of the most evil books of the twentieth century on par with Mein Kampf. The reason the book is so evil is it argues comics are full. of sex and violence and a corrupting influence on young children. and young teenagers. Why let young impretionable children read comics when they can do other things is an old arguement. People still do that today with comics still and video games as well as with violent movies. More or the argument had to do with assumptions and generalisations which is never good. A good facist allways generalizes as well. Wonder Woman which had improper imagery which looked like bondage. Now allthough her creator Harvard phyckiatrist William Moulton Mouston had also invented DISC Theory which was feminist the bondage in Wonder Woman was just innocent. I think the attack was just an attack on another phyckiatrist who was more popular and on the other side with comic books. He also accused Wonder Woman of being a lesbian and described in detail how Amazons and the femenistic situatons in Wonder Woman was lesbian. He was a Reverse Femenist. Batman and Robin he accused homosexual too and they were in a gay relationship. Superman was a Nazi. Despite being created by two Jews from Cleveland Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster. Even monster comics were corrupting. Wethram just hated them all and people listened.Wethrams's book ignited a national craze against comics. Churches and local leaders attacked them. My Favorite All-Time Comic Ever !!! (Part 1)
My favorite all-time comic book series ever is Shazam !!! Shazam !!! which has been in publication on and off since 1940 is the adventures of Captain Marvel the big red cheese. Captain. Marvel is in actual fact boy Billy Batson. Captain Marvel has a quite biblical beginning.Billy is chosen by the wizard Shazam who resembles Moses or maybe G-d. to save mankind. Billy a newsie or boy who sells newspapers and lives on the streets. He is an orphan and urchin-like. He sees one night a mysterious train taking him to Shazam's lair. There Shazam introduces him to Billy saying he is chosen to be mankind's newest champion and that he will be given the powers of the wizard. He will have the Strenght of Sampson, Hercules's will, Dexterity ofAchilles, Power of Zeus, Height ofAtlas,and Speed of Mercury. He then tells Billy by saying he can transform in the superhero Captain Marvel,humanity's champion.
